
The Department of Civil Engineering at Persian Gulf University is one of the University's founding academic departments, established alongside the School of Engineering in October 1992. The Department commenced its educational activities by admitting its first cohort of 35 undergraduate students in Civil Engineering. Over more than three decades of continuous development, it has established itself as a leading center for engineering education and research in southern Iran through academic excellence, dedicated faculty members, modern educational and research facilities, and strong engagement with industry. In response to the evolving needs of society and the engineering profession, the Department has continuously expanded its academic and research capacities. Today, in addition to its undergraduate program, the Department offers five Master's degree programs, providing high-quality education and advanced research opportunities across major disciplines of Civil Engineering. Academic Programs:
• B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering (since 1992)
• M.Sc. Degree in Structural Engineering (since 2004)
• M.Sc. Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (since 2011)
• M.Sc. Degree in Water and Hydraulic Structures (since 2012)
• M.Sc. Degree in Marine Structures and Coastal Engineering (since 2019)
• M.Sc. Degree in Water Resources Management (since 2020)
The Department of Civil Engineering aspires to be recognized as a leading academic and research center in Civil Engineering at both the national and regional levels. Through excellence in education, impactful research, innovation, and effective collaboration with industry, the Department is committed to educating highly qualified, creative, and ethically responsible engineers capable of addressing contemporary engineering challenges and contributing to sustainable development and the advancement of society.
